What connecting Reddit Ads to Claude actually means

You can ask Claude about your Reddit Ads and get a real answer, pulled from your actual account, in seconds. Type “how did my Reddit Ads do last month” and Claude reads your numbers and tells you, no CSV export, no dashboard to open. The connection runs through the Data Bloo MCP, takes about two minutes to set up, and it’s read-only, so Claude can analyze your campaigns but can never change them.

One thing worth knowing before you start: Reddit does not publish an official MCP server. There is no first-party equivalent of Meta’s connector, so the real choice is a data connector like Data Bloo, a self-hosted community server, or a CSV export. Data Bloo is one connection covering Reddit Ads alongside Google Ads, GA4, Meta and the rest, so Claude can compare channels instead of reading Reddit in isolation, and the same connection feeds your Data Studio dashboards. That’s what the rest of this guide covers.

Why connect Reddit Ads to Claude

Stop rebuilding the same Reddit Ads export

Reddit Ads Manager is built for launching campaigns, not for answering “which community is actually paying for itself”. Claude reads the same Reddit Ads data behind your Data Studio reports and explains the movement, at campaign, ad group, ad and community level.

Ask, get instant answers

“Which Reddit Ads campaigns had the highest CTR last week?” Claude pulls the numbers and explains them.

Reports inside the chat

Ask for a 30-day Reddit Ads view and get tables plus a summary ready to share, no Data Studio setup.

Client-ready summaries

“Turn the last 30 days of Reddit Ads into an executive summary.” Paste it into Slack, email or a doc.

Diagnose dips fast

“Why did our spend jump on Tuesday?” Claude looks across campaigns, communities and dates and explains it.

Blend beyond Reddit

Line Reddit Ads up against Meta Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads or WooCommerce in one answer.

Connect once, use everywhere

The same Reddit Ads account you linked for Data Studio is instantly available to Claude, zero duplicate setup.

Supported data sources

Reddit Ads, plus every other connector

Already connected in Data Bloo? It’s instantly available to Claude, connect once, use everywhere.

Pick your route

Three ways to connect Reddit Ads to Claude

There are three real options, built for different people. Here’s the honest version, including the case where the answer isn’t us, so you pick the right one the first time.

Recommended for reporting

A connector like Data Bloo

Connect once and your Reddit Ads data, plus every other source in Data Bloo, is available to Claude any time. Read-only, blends across channels, and the same connection feeds your Data Studio reports.

A community MCP server

Reddit ships no official MCP. The closest thing is mkerchenski/RedditAdsMcp, a community C# project with six read-only tools. The trade-off: you host and run it yourself on .NET 10, register a Reddit developer app, and refresh the OAuth token by hand. Reddit only, and one GitHub star of community behind it.

A manual CSV export

Pull a report from Reddit Ads Manager, save the file, upload it to Claude. Free, and it works once. Then you do it again next week, separately for every account.

The bottom line: if you have an engineer to spare and only ever need Reddit, the community server works. If you want Claude to read and report on your marketing, across Reddit and everything else, with nothing to host and no tokens to refresh, that’s Data Bloo.

The honest bit

Does Reddit have an official MCP?

No, and that matters more here than it sounds. Meta shipped an official ads MCP in April 2026, and Google, Microsoft and TikTok have all followed. Reddit has published nothing, for ads or for content. So when a page tells you to “install the Reddit Ads MCP”, it means somebody else’s server. The most established one is mkerchenski/RedditAdsMcp, a C# project released in February 2026 with six read-only tools: list accounts, campaigns, ad groups and ads, plus two reporting calls. It is MIT-licensed, it works, and it has one star on GitHub.

The trade-offs are real. You run it yourself on .NET 10, register a Reddit developer app, complete the OAuth flow in a browser, exchange the code for a refresh token by hand and hard-code an account ID. It reads Reddit and nothing else, so you cannot ask how Reddit compares to Google Ads in the same breath. And the servers that do write to Reddit exist, but they hand an AI the keys to a live ad account. Data Bloo takes the other side of that trade: hosted, read-only, and pointed at every channel you already report on.

Before you start

What you need

Three things, and you probably already have them.

A Data Bloo account with Reddit Ads connected. If you already use Data Bloo for your Data Studio reports, your source is ready, connect once, use everywhere.
A Claude account. Desktop, Web or Claude Code all work, and a free Claude account is enough to start.
Pop-ups allowed for sign-in. Data Bloo’s sign-in opens a browser window during setup, so make sure your browser isn’t blocking it.

Under the hood

Seven read-only tools, why this can’t get you banned

You just ask in plain language, Claude picks the right tool. The typical flow: list_data_sources → get_connector_accounts → list_fields → query_data.

Tool
What it does
get_user
Your plan, MCP access, usage limits and remaining calls.
list_data_sources
Every available connector, with its name and description.
get_connector_accounts
Your linked Reddit Ads accounts, and the IDs to query.
list_fields
The valid metrics and dimensions for Reddit Ads.
query_data
The actual pull: metrics and dimensions over a date range.
list_accounts
Every connected account across every connector, in one call.
get_dates
Turns “last month” into the exact start and end dates to query.

Read-only, always. Claude can pull and analyze your Reddit Ads, it can never pause a campaign, edit a budget or change any account setting. Nothing Reddit could ever flag.

Why Data Bloo

Read-only safety and your dashboards, in one connection

The write-capable tools make you choose: hand an AI the keys to your ad account, or keep exporting by hand. Data Bloo doesn’t ask you to choose. It reads, it reports, and the exact same connection already powering your Data Studio dashboards now answers questions in Claude.

It can’t touch your account

All seven tools are read-only. Claude pulls and analyzes your Reddit Ads, but it can’t pause a campaign, move a budget or change a setting, so there’s no wrong instruction that could put your account at risk. No safety checklist to memorize, because there’s nothing to switch off.

One connection, two surfaces

The Reddit Ads source you built for Data Studio is the same one Claude reads. No second setup, no second bill, and the numbers Claude quotes always match the dashboards you send clients. It’s the one thing a self-hosted, Reddit-only server structurally can’t give you.

The data

What Reddit Ads data you can pull

The same metrics you use in your reports, sliced by campaign, ad group, ad, community, interest, keyword, device and date.

Delivery & cost

Impressions, reach, clicks, frequency, CTR, CPC, eCPM, CPV and amount spent.

Conversions & value

Purchases, leads, sign-ups, add-to-cart, page visits and searches, each split into view-through and click-through, plus total value and eCPA, so Conversion ROAS comes through when your pixel is tracking it.

Breakdowns

Campaign, ad group, ad, community, interest, keyword, placement, device OS, country, region, DMA and gender.

Video, in depth

Reddit reports a full video ladder: 3s, 5s and 10s views, 25/50/75/95/100% watch points, plays with sound, and completion rate.

Real answers

What Claude actually gives you back

Three real prompts and the kind of answer Claude returns once Reddit Ads is connected through Data Bloo, numbers, then a plain-language read.

“Pull impressions, clicks and spend for my Reddit Ads account, last 30 days.”

Claude: Last 30 days on Reddit Ads, 2,146,880 impressions, 8,312 clicks and €4,940 spent. That’s a 0.39% CTR at €0.59 CPC, up 6% on the prior period.

The read: cheaper clicks and rising volume, efficiency is improving, not just spend climbing.
“Which communities drove the cheapest conversions in the last 14 days?”

Claude: Cheapest, r/selfhosted at €14.20 per lead. Priciest, r/technology at €61.80. The niche community converts about 4× cheaper on a third of the spend.

The read: the small, on-topic communities are carrying this account. Scale those before touching the broad ones.
“Break down last month’s spend by device OS and placement.”

Claude: iOS, €2,690 spend, 214 conversions, €12.57 each. Android, €1,540 spend, 96 conversions, €16.04 each. Desktop, €710 spend, 71 conversions, €10.00 each.

The read: desktop converts cheapest and takes the smallest share of budget, worth testing a higher split.

Example outputs shown for illustration; your figures come live from your own connected account.

Built for how you actually work

Same connection, different job to be done. Here’s where a media buyer, an agency lead and an ecommerce marketer each tend to start with Reddit Ads.

Agencies

Lead gen & B2B

Watch leads and cost per lead by community, and catch a rising cost per lead before it eats the month’s budget.

Troubleshooting

Common issues and fixes

Claude says it can’t see your accounts

You’re likely not signed in yet, or Reddit Ads isn’t connected in Data Bloo. Ask “Using Data Bloo, list the accounts I have connected.” If it comes back empty, open Data Bloo, confirm your Reddit Ads source is connected, then try again.

The numbers don’t match Reddit Ads Manager exactly

Small gaps are normal. Attribution windows differ, time zones shift which day a number lands in, and Reddit keeps updating recent figures as conversions come in. For trends, comparisons and reporting the Data Bloo pull is solid; for the last few hours of a live campaign, Reddit Ads Manager is freshest.

Your spend looks a million times too big

That’s Reddit’s API, not a bug. It returns spend, CPC, eCPM, CPV and eCPA in micro-units, a million times the real figure, and purchase value ×1,000. Data Bloo scales them back before Claude ever sees them, so when a raw export looks absurd and Claude’s answer doesn’t, Claude is the one that’s right.

Claude won’t take an action on your campaigns

That’s on purpose. The connection is read-only. Reddit publishes no official MCP, so having Claude create or pause ads means handing write access to a third-party server. That’s a different trade, and not this one.

Good to know

Query notes & FAQs

Up to three breakdowns per call. Reddit allows three breakdown fields at once, four when Country and Region are both selected. Past that, ask Claude to run separate queries and combine them.
Confirm fields first. Field IDs vary per connector. Claude usually lists fields before querying to avoid rejected requests.
!Currency arrives in micro-units. Reddit returns spend and cost metrics ×1,000,000. Data Bloo scales them back, so what Claude quotes is already in your account currency.
Numbers vs Reddit Ads Manager. Small gaps are normal, attribution windows, time zones and Reddit’s ongoing updates to recent data.
How do I connect Reddit Ads to Claude?

Add a custom connector in Claude, name it Data Bloo, and paste the MCP URL https://mcp.databloo.com/mcp. Sign in once, then ask Claude about your Reddit Ads in plain language.

Is the Data Bloo MCP free?

It’s free to start, no credit card. The free tier includes MCP access with usage limits; paid plans raise the limits and add more connected accounts.

Does Reddit have an official MCP server?

No. Reddit publishes no first-party MCP for ads or for content, so every option you will find is third-party. The only community server, mkerchenski/RedditAdsMcp, is a self-hosted C# project on .NET 10 with six read-only tools, and you handle the developer app, the OAuth flow and the token refresh yourself. Data Bloo is the hosted alternative.

Does Claude change anything in my ad account?

No. All seven MCP tools are strictly read-only. Claude can pull and analyze your data but can never edit campaigns, budgets or any account settings. Reddit publishes no official MCP either, so nothing on this page can write to your account.

Can I see subreddit-level performance?

Yes. Community is a first-class dimension, so you can rank subreddits by spend, CTR, conversions or cost per conversion, and combine it with interest, keyword and placement in the same question.

Which AI tools does the MCP work with?

Any MCP-compatible client, Claude Desktop, Web and Code, plus ChatGPT, and Gemini. The same URL works across all of them.

Can I blend Reddit Ads with other channels?

Yes. As long as they’re connected in Data Bloo, ask Claude to compare Reddit Ads against Meta Ads, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads or your WooCommerce revenue, and it pulls one blended answer.

How current is the data Claude sees?

Claude queries your data live through Data Bloo’s connectors the moment you ask, subject to each platform’s API freshness and your plan’s refresh limits.

Do I need a paid Claude plan?

No. A free Claude account is enough to add the Data Bloo connector and start pulling Reddit Ads reports. Your Claude plan is separate from Data Bloo, and the connector works on Claude Desktop, Web and Code.

Is it safe to connect Reddit Ads to Claude?

Yes. You sign in once through Data Bloo’s secure OAuth flow, and the connection is strictly read-only. Claude can pull and analyze your Reddit Ads but can never pause a campaign, change a budget or take any action Reddit could flag.

Can I use it across multiple client accounts?

Yes. Ask Claude to list your connected Reddit Ads accounts, and it can pull and compare across them, handy for agencies running multiple clients.

Can I automate recurring Reddit Ads reports?

Yes. Pair the MCP with Claude’s scheduled tasks or Claude Code for an automatic Monday-morning KPI digest, anomaly alerts or a recurring client update, unattended.
