How to Connect WooCommerce to Claude with MCP
Connect WooCommerce to Claude with the Data Bloo MCP and pull orders, revenue, average order value and top products straight from the chat, no exports, no dashboards. It's read-only, so it's safe, and here's the 2-minute setup.
Your Data Bloo MCP URL
Paste this into Claude when you add a custom connector. Then expand Advanced settings and enter 43 in the OAuth Client ID field, leave the Client Secret blank. That's the whole secret; everything below is just where to click.
The short version
You can ask Claude about your WooCommerce store and get a real answer, pulled from your actual orders, in seconds. Type "how did my store do last month" and Claude reads your numbers and tells you, no CSV export, no admin dashboard to open. The connection runs through the Data Bloo MCP, takes about two minutes to set up, and it's read-only, so Claude can analyze your sales but can never touch a product, a price or an order.
Want Claude to actually operate your store, edit products and manage orders? WooCommerce is building that natively: its own MCP ships in core as a developer preview. Want Claude to read, analyze and report on your sales, blend them with your Facebook Ads and Google Ads spend for real ROAS, and feed the same data to your Data Studio dashboards? That's Data Bloo, and that's what the rest of this guide covers.
Stop exporting order CSVs. Start asking.
The same WooCommerce store you already trust for your Data Studio reports, now answering questions in a chat. No exports, no admin screens to open.
Ask, get instant answers
"Which products drove the most revenue last week?" Claude pulls the numbers and explains them.
Reports inside the chat
Ask for a 30-day sales view and get tables plus a summary ready to share, no Data Studio setup.
Client-ready summaries
"Turn last month's store performance into an executive summary." Paste it into Slack, email or a doc.
Diagnose dips fast
"Why did revenue dip on Tuesday?" Claude looks across products, coupons, order statuses and dates and explains it.
Real ROAS, finally
Line WooCommerce revenue up against Facebook Ads and Google Ads spend in one answer, blended ROAS without a spreadsheet.
Connect once, use everywhere
The same WooCommerce store you linked for Data Studio is instantly available to Claude, zero duplicate setup.
WooCommerce, plus every other connector
Already connected in Data Bloo? It's instantly available to Claude, connect once, use everywhere.
Three ways to connect WooCommerce to Claude
There are three real options, built for different people. Here's the honest version, including the case where the answer isn't us, so you pick the right one the first time.
A connector like Data Bloo
Connect once and your WooCommerce data, plus every other source in Data Bloo, is available to Claude any time. Read-only, blends across channels, and the same connection feeds your Data Studio reports. No plugin, no server, nothing to host.
WooCommerce's native MCP
Woo ships MCP support in core as a developer preview, and the "WooCommerce for Claude" experiment (May 2026) exposes your store at /wp-json/…/mcp. Powerful, but it's per store, needs REST API keys plus a local proxy, and write-capable keys let an AI change your live store.
A manual CSV export
Export orders or an Analytics report from WooCommerce, save the file, upload it to Claude. Free, and it works once. Then you do it again next week, separately for every store.
Data Bloo vs WooCommerce's native MCP vs a manual export
The short version: if you want Claude to operate your store, WooCommerce's own MCP is heading there. If you want Claude to read and report on your sales, blend them with your ad spend for real ROAS, and feed the same data to your dashboards, that's Data Bloo.
When to use WooCommerce's native MCP instead
Data Bloo isn't the right tool for everyone. If your goal is to have Claude operate your store, not just report on it, WooCommerce is building exactly that into the platform. MCP support ships in Woo core as a developer preview (enable it under WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → Features), and Automattic's "WooCommerce for Claude" experiment from May 2026 wraps it into a single endpoint on your own site, with a copy-pasteable config for Claude Desktop and a one-liner for Claude Code. Because it runs inside your WordPress install, it can see and, with read/write API keys, act on everything the REST API can touch.
The trade-offs are real. It's a developer preview, so the APIs can change under you. Setup means generating REST API consumer keys and running a local proxy, per store, and you own that maintenance. Write-capable keys hand an AI edit rights to a live store, the exact risk Data Bloo removes by staying read-only. And it only sees one WooCommerce store, so it can't line your revenue up against Facebook Ads or Google Ads spend, and it doesn't feed Data Studio. Plenty of stores run both: the native MCP to act on the store, Data Bloo to read, blend and report across everything.
What you need
Three things, and you probably already have them.
How to connect WooCommerce to Claude
Pick your Claude client. Desktop & Web are easiest for most store owners; Claude Code is a one-liner for developers.
Launch Claude Desktop or claude.ai. In the chat input, click the + icon on the left to open the tools menu.
Hover over Connectors, then click Manage connectors to open your connector settings.
Click the small + at the top of the connector list, then choose Add custom connector.
Type Data Bloo in the Name field. That's how you'll find it inside any conversation later.
In the Remote MCP server URL field, paste https://mcp.databloo.com/mcp. Then expand Advanced settings and enter 43 in the OAuth Client ID field, leave the Client Secret blank.
Claude opens your browser on Data Bloo's sign-in page, sign in and approve so Claude can read your data. You sign in once.
Start a new chat and try: "Using Data Bloo, pull orders, net sales and average order value for my WooCommerce store for the last 30 days." Claude returns a table plus a short analysis.
Open your terminal and run:
claude mcp add --transport http databloo https://mcp.databloo.com/mcp
Next time you start a Claude Code session, Claude opens your browser to sign in to Data Bloo. Sign in once, the connection persists across sessions.
Run /mcp, you should see databloo with status connected.
Confirm it works: in a fresh chat, ask "Using Data Bloo, list all the WooCommerce stores I have connected." If Claude returns your stores, you're fully connected.

Seven read-only tools, why your store is safe
You just ask in plain language, Claude picks the right tool. The typical flow: list_data_sources → get_connector_accounts → list_fields → query_data.
get_userlist_data_sourcesget_connector_accountslist_fieldsquery_datalist_accountsget_datesRead-only, always. Claude can pull and analyze your WooCommerce sales, it can never edit a product, change a price, touch an order or refund a customer. Your store stays exactly as you left it.
Read-only safety and your dashboards, in one connection
The write-capable tools make you choose: hand an AI edit rights to your live store, or keep exporting by hand. Data Bloo doesn't ask you to choose. It reads, it reports, and the exact same connection already powering your Data Studio dashboards now answers questions in Claude.
It can't touch your store
All seven tools are read-only. Claude pulls and analyzes your WooCommerce data, but it can't edit a product, change a price, cancel an order or issue a refund, so there's no wrong instruction that could put your live store at risk. No API key permissions to double-check, because there's nothing to switch off.
One connection, two surfaces
The WooCommerce source you built for Data Studio is the same one Claude reads. No second setup, no second bill, and the numbers Claude quotes always match the dashboards you send clients. It's the one thing a single-store, write-first tool structurally can't give you.
What WooCommerce data you can pull
The same metrics you use in your reports, sliced by product, category, order status, coupon, country and date.
Orders, gross and net sales, revenue, average order value and units sold.
Refunds and refund totals, coupons used and discount amounts, the numbers that turn gross sales into what you actually keep.
Customer counts alongside your top products and categories, so you see what sells and who's buying more over time.
Product, category, order status, coupon, country and date.
What Claude actually gives you back
Three real prompts and the kind of answer Claude returns once WooCommerce is connected through Data Bloo, numbers, then a plain-language read.
Claude: Last 30 days on WooCommerce, 1,842 orders, €96,410 net sales and a €52.34 average order value. Orders are up 9% on the prior period, and the refund rate held at 2.1%.
Claude: Top seller, Linen Throw Blanket at €12,480 across 416 units, about 13% of net sales. Ceramic Mug Set dropped from 210 to 96 units, the steepest decline in the catalog.
Claude: Net sales, €96,410. Ad spend, €12,940 on Facebook Ads and €8,360 on Google Ads, €21,300 total. That's a blended ROAS of about 4.5×, up from 4.1× last month.

Common issues and fixes
You're likely not signed in yet, or WooCommerce isn't connected in Data Bloo. Ask "Using Data Bloo, list the accounts I have connected." If it comes back empty, open Data Bloo, confirm your WooCommerce source is connected, then try again.
Small gaps are normal. WooCommerce Analytics only counts certain order statuses, your store's timezone decides which day an order lands in, and recent figures keep shifting as orders complete or get refunded. For trends, comparisons and reporting the Data Bloo pull is solid; for an order placed five minutes ago, your admin is freshest.
Refunds land on the date they were issued, not the date of the original order. A heavy returns day can drag that day's net sales down even if new orders were strong. Ask Claude for gross and net side by side and the gap explains itself.
That's on purpose. The connection is read-only. If you need to edit products or manage orders from chat, that's WooCommerce's native MCP, not this.
Query notes & FAQs
Add a custom connector in Claude, name it Data Bloo, and paste the MCP URL https://mcp.databloo.com/mcp. Sign in once, then ask Claude about your WooCommerce store in plain language.
It's free to start, no credit card. The free tier includes MCP access with usage limits; paid plans raise the limits and add more connected accounts.
No. All seven MCP tools are strictly read-only. Claude can pull and analyze your data but can never edit products, prices, orders or any store setting. For store operations from chat, use WooCommerce's native MCP.
Yes, as a developer preview. WooCommerce core ships MCP support, and the "WooCommerce for Claude" experiment exposes your store through an endpoint on your own site. It's self-hosted, needs REST API keys and a local proxy, and with write keys it can change your live store. Data Bloo is the read-only, no-setup alternative that also blends other channels.
Nothing for the Claude side. You connect your store to Data Bloo once, the same connection that powers your Data Studio reports, then paste one URL into Claude. No plugin to maintain, no local proxy, no server to run.
Any MCP-compatible client, Claude Desktop, Web and Code, plus ChatGPT, Gemini and Cursor. The same URL works across all of them.
Yes, and it's the best part. As long as they're connected in Data Bloo, ask Claude to line WooCommerce revenue up against Facebook Ads and Google Ads spend for real ROAS, or against GA4 sessions and Search Console clicks, one blended answer.
Claude queries your data live through Data Bloo's connectors the moment you ask, subject to each platform's API freshness and your plan's refresh limits.
No. A free Claude account is enough to add the Data Bloo connector and start pulling WooCommerce reports. Your Claude plan is separate from Data Bloo, and the connector works on Claude Desktop, Web and Code.
Yes. You sign in once through Data Bloo's secure OAuth flow, and the connection is strictly read-only. Claude can pull and analyze your sales but can never edit a product, change a price or touch an order, and you never paste API keys into a chat.
Yes. Ask Claude to list your connected WooCommerce stores, and it can pull and compare across them, handy for agencies running multiple clients or brands running several shops.
Yes. Pair the MCP with Claude's scheduled tasks or Claude Code for an automatic Monday-morning sales digest, a refund-rate alert or a recurring client update, unattended.
