Your store’s .myshopify.com domain
How to connect
1
Create the app
- In your Shopify admin, go to Settings › Apps and click Develop apps.
- Click Build apps in Dev Dashboard, then Create app.
- Under Start from Dev Dashboard, name the app Data Bloo and click Create.
- In the new version, set the App URL to the address below. If you see Embed app in Shopify admin, turn it off.
App URL
https://hub.databloo.com
- Pick the latest Webhooks API version.
- In Access, add these scopes:
Scopes
read_analytics,read_customers,read_orders,read_products,read_reports
- Click Release, then Release again.
2
Install it on your store
- In the Dev Dashboard, open the app you just created.
- In Installs, click Install app. If you have more than one store, pick the one to connect.
- Review the permissions and click Install.
3
Copy the app’s credentials
- In the Dev Dashboard, open the app’s Settings.
- Copy the Client ID and the Client secret.
Keep the secret private. Shopify doesn’t show an access token for these apps. Data Bloo uses the Client ID and secret to get a new one every day, so your connection keeps working. Only paste the secret into Data Bloo.
4
Connect your store in Data Bloo
- Open the Shopify connector in the Hub and choose Connect with your own Shopify app.
- Enter your store’s .myshopify.com domain (in your Shopify admin under Settings › Domains, not your own website domain), the Client ID and the Client secret.
- Click Connect store, then select your store.
Already have a custom app from before 2026? Custom apps created in the Shopify admin before January 1, 2026 still work, so you can skip steps 1 to 3. On the connect form, choose Have an older custom app? Use its access token and paste the token from the app’s API credentials tab (it starts with
shpat_). It needs the same scopes as above.Troubleshooting
The most common issues and how to fix them.
Issue
How to fix
“This app can’t access this store.”
Create the app from the same store’s admin (step 1). An app made under another Shopify account or organization can’t read your store.
“The app is missing these scopes.”
Add the missing scopes in the app’s Access section, release a new version, approve the update on your store, then connect again.
Customer names or emails are missing
Shopify limits customer details for apps a store builds itself, and on some plans they aren’t available. Orders, sales and products are not affected.
Shopify data stopped updating
Uninstalling the app or rotating its Client secret disconnects Data Bloo. Reinstall the app or copy the new secret, then reconnect the store from the Shopify connector.
Good to know
Your data stays yours
We don't store raw Shopify data. It's fetched live each time, read-only.
Stays connected
Data Bloo renews the access token daily, so you only set this up once.
