How to Connect Google Ads to ChatGPT
Install the Data Bloo plugin from ChatGPT's directory, sign in once, and ask about your Google Ads in plain language. Impressions, clicks, cost and conversions, answered in the chat with a dashboard drawn for you. No developer token, no Cloud project, no terminal.
The Data Bloo plugin
Open Plugins in ChatGPT, search Data Bloo, hit Install and sign in. No developer token, no Google Cloud project, no server URL and no API key anywhere in this setup. Everything below is just where to click.
What connecting Google Ads to ChatGPT actually means
You ask ChatGPT about your Google Ads and get a real answer, pulled from your actual account, in seconds. Type "@Data Bloo how did our campaigns do last month" and it reads your numbers, draws a small dashboard in the thread and tells you where the money went. No CSV export, no report builder. The connection runs through the Data Bloo plugin in ChatGPT's own directory, takes about a minute to set up, and it's read-only, so ChatGPT can analyze your campaigns but can never change a bid or a budget.
Comfortable with a developer token and the Google Ads API? Google's own MCP route is free and worth a look. Want the one-click setup, plain-English answers, Google Ads blended with GA4, Search Console and your store revenue, and the same data feeding your Data Studio dashboards? That's Data Bloo, and that's what the rest of this guide covers.
Stop exporting Ads Manager. Start asking.
The same Google Ads account you already trust for your Data Studio reports, now answering questions in a chat.
Ask, get instant answers
"Which keywords burned budget without converting last week?" ChatGPT pulls the numbers and explains them.
A dashboard, not a wall of text
Cost, clicks and conversions come back as tiles and a campaign table, drawn inside the thread.
Client-ready summaries
"Turn last month's Google Ads into an executive summary." Paste it into Slack, email or a doc.
Diagnose dips fast
"Why did cost per conversion jump on Tuesday?" It looks across campaigns, keywords and devices and explains it.
Blend beyond Google Ads
Line spend up against GA4 sessions, Search Console clicks or your store revenue in one answer.
Connect once, use everywhere
The same account you linked for Data Studio is instantly available to ChatGPT, zero duplicate setup.
Google Ads, plus every other connector

Three ways to connect Google Ads to ChatGPT
They solve different problems. Here's the honest version so you don't set up the wrong one.
A connector like Data Bloo
One-click install from ChatGPT's directory, sign in once, ask in plain English. No developer token, no Cloud project, nothing to host. Read-only, blends Google Ads with your other channels, and the same connection feeds your Data Studio reports.
Google's own API route
Google exposes the Ads API and community MCP servers wrap it. Free and powerful, with access to everything the API offers. The trade-off: you apply for a developer token, stand up a Cloud project, handle OAuth and run a server yourself.
A manual export
Download a report from Google Ads, save the file, upload it into the chat. Free, and it works once. Then you do it again next week, separately for every account.
Data Bloo vs Google's API route vs a manual export
| Data Bloo | Google API route | Manual export | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Setup | ~1 min, one click | Developer token, Cloud project, OAuth | New export each time |
| Reads your data | Yes, live | Yes, live | A snapshot |
| Changes your account | No (read-only) | Yes, if you enable it | No |
| Blends other channels | Yes, 15+ connectors | No, Google Ads only | By hand |
| Draws a dashboard in chat | Yes | Text answers | Text answers |
| Feeds Data Studio | Yes, same connection | No | No |
| Price | Free to start | Free, open source | Free |
| Upkeep | None | You host, update & re-auth it | Redo it each time |
The bottom line: if you're comfortable with a developer token and a Cloud project, the API route is free and gives you everything. If you'd rather skip the setup tax entirely, ask in plain English, and see Google Ads next to the rest of your marketing, that's Data Bloo.
When to use Google's own API route instead
Data Bloo isn't the right tool for everyone. If you want raw Google Ads API access, every field and every report type, the API route is free and more complete than any hosted connector. You can also read and change the code, which matters to some teams.
The trade-off is everything around it. You apply for a developer token, stand up a Google Cloud project, work through OAuth and keep a server running and updated. And it only sees Google Ads, so it can't tell you whether the clicks it's reporting turned into store revenue, or how they compare with Meta. It also does nothing for the client dashboards you already send. That's the job Data Bloo does.
Read-only safety and your dashboards, in one connection
The write-capable routes make you choose: hand an AI the keys to your ad account, or keep exporting by hand. Data Bloo doesn't ask you to choose. It reads, it reports, and the exact same connection already powering your Data Studio dashboards now answers questions in ChatGPT.
It can't touch your account
All seven tools are read-only. ChatGPT pulls and analyzes your campaigns, but it can't change a bid, move a budget or pause an ad group, so there's no wrong instruction that could put spend at risk. No safety checklist to memorize, because there's nothing to switch off.
One connection, two surfaces
The Google Ads source you built for Data Studio is the same one ChatGPT reads. No second setup, no second bill, and the numbers ChatGPT quotes always match the dashboards you send clients. It's the one thing a local, Google-Ads-only server structurally can't give you.
What you need
How to connect Google Ads to ChatGPT
Seven clicks, start to finish. It works the same on ChatGPT web and the desktop app.
If you already use Data Bloo for your Data Studio reports, skip this, your account is ready. If not, sign up free and link your Google Ads account once.
Jump straight to Data Bloo in the ChatGPT plugin directory. You'll see sample prompts and the list of supported sources, Google Ads among them.
Open Data Bloo in ChatGPT →The black Install plugin button sits at the top right of the listing, next to the Data Bloo name.
ChatGPT opens Data Bloo's sign-in page. Log in with your Data Bloo account (or the email you use for your connectors) and approve read access.
Once installed, the button flips from Install plugin to Try in chat. Click it to jump straight into a new conversation.
Try: "@Data Bloo Which campaigns spent the most last month, and what did they return?"
If you have more than one account, ChatGPT asks which to analyze. Answer, and it returns a rendered dashboard plus a written read of what moved and why.
Confirm it works: in a fresh chat, type "@Data Bloo list all the Google Ads accounts I have connected." If your account comes back in the list, you're connected.

Seven read-only tools, why your spend stays untouched
You ask in plain language, ChatGPT picks the tool. The usual path for a Google Ads question: get_connector_accounts → list_fields → query_data.
get_userlist_data_sourcesget_connector_accountslist_fieldsquery_datalist_accountsget_datesPlus a built-in skill. The plugin ships with data-bloo-channel-analysis, so ChatGPT doesn't just fetch rows, it knows how a PPC manager reads them: which campaign earned its budget, which one leaked it, and what to check next.
Read-only, always. ChatGPT can pull and analyze your Google Ads data, it can never change a bid, a budget or a campaign setting.
What Google Ads data you can pull
The same metrics you use in your reports, sliced by campaign, ad group, keyword, search term, device, country and date.
What ChatGPT actually gives you back
Three prompts and the kind of answer ChatGPT returns once Google Ads is connected through Data Bloo, numbers, then a plain-language read.
ChatGPT: €24,180 spent for 31,420 clicks and 842 conversions, a €28.72 cost per conversion at a €0.77 CPC. Spend is up 11% and conversions up 4% on the prior period.
ChatGPT: Best, Brand – Search at 7.1× on €6,240 spend. Worst, Generic – Search at 2.4× on €11,930. Generic takes 49% of the budget and returns 26% of the value.
ChatGPT: Eleven terms over €200 with zero conversions, the biggest three at €1,180, €740 and €520. Together they account for €4,900 of spend.

Common issues and fixes
Start the message with @Data Bloo. Without the mention it may answer from general knowledge instead of reaching for the plugin, and you'll get a confident, generic reply that has nothing to do with your account.
You're likely not signed in yet, or Google Ads isn't connected in Data Bloo. Ask "@Data Bloo list the accounts I have connected." If it comes back empty, open Data Bloo, confirm your Google Ads source is connected, then try again.
Small gaps are normal. Attribution models differ, your account timezone shifts which day a click lands in, and Google keeps updating recent conversion data as it attributes. For trends, comparisons and reporting the Data Bloo pull is solid; for the last few hours of a live campaign, Google Ads is freshest.
That's usually conversion tracking, not the connection. If the account doesn't record conversions, or they're attributed to a different conversion action, there's nothing for the connector to return. Ask for cost, clicks and impressions instead while you check the setup.
That's on purpose. The connection is read-only, so nothing in Google Ads can be changed from a chat. If you need to change something, do it in Google Ads itself.

No. That's only needed if you build against the Google Ads API yourself. Data Bloo handles the connection, so you sign in once and that's it.
No. Data Bloo is a listed plugin in ChatGPT's directory, so installing is one click and a sign-in. A server URL is only needed for clients without a directory, like Claude, and that's covered on our Google Ads to Claude page.
Yes. Connect each Google Ads account in Data Bloo and name the client in your prompt. If you don't specify, ChatGPT asks which account to analyze before it queries anything.
Yes. As long as they're connected in Data Bloo, ask ChatGPT to compare Google Ads against GA4, Search Console, Facebook Ads or your store revenue, and it pulls one blended answer.
Yes, they come through as campaigns like any other, with product-level dimensions where the account exposes them.
The Data Bloo plugin ships its own interface, so results render as KPI tiles and a table inside the chat. The written analysis still appears underneath, and you can ask for a plain table any time.
